Synopsis: SunStorm's friend, TrueSilver, has disappeared. The DragonQuest begins, and our heroes soon discover that they are to face a very powerful prime force of Evil>. And what they do or don't do will change both the future and the past forever. Thread type: The DragonQuest focuses on Character Development, storytelling, and PC interaction. It is an open thread: this means that new players can join anytime, provided that they e-mail first and that a majority of players accept them in. But new players join for the duration (unless of course something special happens). What has gone before: SunStorm fought against a guy in dark plate armor the night the mod attacked the city of Generica. When he got back, both his helm and -more importantly- his friend TrueSilver, had disappeared. SunStorm broke into depression and to calm him down he got reduced to dwarven size by Luthor the mage from the Luthor thread. Then SunStorm gathered a few brave souls, and then the party first did some information gathering. Lancos was attacked by the same guy in dark armor, and Valgar found a strange book. The party was surprised to meet another 'Raelf, from the future. This one stayed silent, tough, not revealing any of the things to come, but the party felt that whatever he knows is in store for their own future, it isn't a funny one. In the evening, a PyraCubicDiamond (PCD), a strange magical construct, appeared on the Plaza of Glittering Steel. The thing succeeded at stealing SunStorm's soul before 'Raelf destroyed it. Then Krastin, the guy in dark plate mail, shouted his rage because "they destroyed the gate", and he ordered a great number of gargoyles to attack the party. After a hard fight and an unholy word, the DragonQuesters vanquished all but Krastin, who escaped -again!-, Lancos still having succeed at repelling his enemy. 'Raelf then saved ShockWave who exerted himself too much trying to control SunStorm's soul-emptied body in the fight against the now defunct gargoyles. Now, ShockWave inhabits both the sword and the gian'ts body, and is slowly learning to deal with biological functions (like trying to deal with too much drinking. While the party rested in the inn, Alita the "Real Babe" (tm) came in and courted every DQer, and took a fancy at Kadrys (who helps the party a lot while at the same time staying very silent and observing), who repelled her. Seeing her actions had the reverse effect than what she intended, she stopped acting like a trollop and instead acted like if she was part of the party -something which isn't still a fact at all-. 'Raelf then discovered, by analyzing the data taken from the PCD, that it wasn't only a charm spell, but an artifact, and it's main core is still existing inside a cave which Valgar read from in the Book. And SunStorm's soul is being tortured in that cave. While Krastin makes new plans to face the party, they are starting to realize that the Dark Master -an unknown evil being of great power- is behind all this. Meanwhile, William, a novice mage who tried to help the party when the PCD first appeared, meets Lancos, who wonders why the mage has carved a statue depicting half a woman and half a dragon -which looks strangely like TrueSilver-. But time is of the essence: They have only a few days before the new moon, which marks the exact time of the opening of the hidden magical cave which rendered crazy it's first explorator: the one who wrote the Book. Things seems to go badly enough: Alita knows more than she is saying, SunStorm's soul is being tortured by the sadistic Vornik, TrueSilver is still missing, ShockWave is sleeping over his booze, Lancos is suffering from a strange curse from a magical pendant/collar he owns, and nobody knows about it, Kadrys has been called away and magically disappeared, and the future seems to hold only bad news. But there is still hope: 'Raelf the Elder knows that in this timeline, things are happening differently. Even if a paradox is dangerous, it's better to cause one forcefully than to deal with what the Dark Master plans to do (or has already done, depending on he PoV) to the timestream. Everybody know that on Nexus, and particularly in Generica, the timestream is already random enough, nearly to the breaking point. To 'Raelf, that's a weak point which gives him flexibility for his interdimensionnal travels. For the Dark Master, that's a weak point which has already allowed him to change history. But time isn't absolute, so there is still hope. What does all that has got to do with a DRAGONQuest, you ask? Heh, if you want to know the answer, you'll have to follow the thread.
