The Kron Quest

Early in 1992, Andrew Solberg, He Whose Real Name Must Not Be Spoke Out Loud, was hit by a fit of something -- genius, insanity, or just too much country music in his work environment -- and he realized something about his character in the Inn.

Terence Kron, a nice guy, a sergeant in the Generican Guard, an honest cop, had a Secret in his past.

His whole life was shaped in some way by this secret. It would be a boring secret otherwise. No, it wasn't a filty dirty tawdry secret.
See, Terence Kron had a sister, Cheyenne. When they were just barely more than kids, Cheyenne was taken. Kidnapped, or maybe killed by some random nutcase -- Kron never found out. The attempt to find her was part of the drive that made him want to be a soldier and later a guard. His story is not an unusual one in Generica. People disappear for all sorts of reasons, just like they do everywhere. Perhaps a few more people disappear than an actuary would find reasonable, but Generica is a strange place.
Kron had enemies. Honest cops do have enemies. Someone was killed, not a big someone, just a small-time fence and sometime pusher with connections, name of Creft. Kron wasn't there, but clutched in Creft's dead fist was an earring -- one of a matched set that Terry Kron had given to his sister Cheyenne the day she disappeared. This was a very distinctive earring, and Terry had the other one, he wore it in a locket around his neck. He showed it to his friends on the Guard.
And when the investigator found out that Terry no longer had the earring, Sergeant Terence Kron was suspended from the Guard and ordered not to leave the city. Murder, after all, is a crime in Generica.

But to Kron this wasn't important. He knew only one thing -- his sister's other earring had turned up, and that meant she might be alive out there. And he was going to find out where.

Kron has collected a group of helpers. They run into the same riot that burned much of Low City (c.f. Dragon Quest) and discover that the riots, and one of Kron's former "friends" from the Guard, Panarchus, were connected. Panarchus is dirty, but there's no proof yet. The next day, they travel to the Scrappy Ram (a seedy bar and a known "connection" for the lethally addictive drug "Joystix") where they trash the place (a small brawl with such strangeness as a Beer Elemental summoned to destroy the invaders, and Thk the Lizard King loses a hand (the one with the mystic ring that causes wounds to heal) which is then lost in the sewers... and some more weirdness happens) and get their information but then encounter, on the outside, a combat between some interdimensional monstrosities and one Marcel Delacroix. Marcel is a cyberpaladin. He helps them deal with another summoned monstrosity and they lead him back to the Dragons' Inn, where he trades language lessons with 'Raelf.

And though there's no solid evidence, yet, Kron has learned that Panarchus is connected to the drug dealings, and that it's being run thru a warehouse in the Low City. They decide to go after this warehouse.
