ADMIN: Trident recovery has been ok'ed with Michael Rigler It lay forgotten on the plain of Brass, silver tines twinkling softly in the ruddy light. The Trident of Thk, abandonned during his jaunt to the plane of Fire with Quruuminias, lay next to a vent spewing forth its sulphurous contents, looking for all the world like, ... well ..., a fish out of water. The Plane of fire is an odd place, forever in a state of flux as it contends with the more passive major planes on either side. Earth and Air and water are cold to fire, and are far more passive, so the boudaries between those planes are more stable in their respective environments whereas the boundaries of fire are well known to planar travellers as being places to avoid if possible, no landmarks stay for long, and the denizens of fire are always on the look out for more energy to consume. So it was that an efreet in a nearby tower noticed the arrival and rapid departure of Thk and Quruuminias, and the twinkle of an object left behind. He arrived at the spot within moments, for one never knows when other eyes are looking as well, and reached down for the prone trident. tssssssssssssss and a cloud of steam rose from the point where the efreet ahd touched the trident, and aaaarrrrrggghhhh cried the efreet as the cold metal of the trident (being linked to the Plane of Water) chilled his skin. "grijak!" cried the efreet and an elemental bubble formed around the trident. Then, causing it to levitate and follow, the efreet trumped back to his tower, pondering over what to do with his new toy. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- "Elemental imbalance?" and a puzzled expression crossed ...sage's brow. While waiting for Iglyarch he had decided to mentally map out the path that he and 'Raelf had taken from Earth to get back to Generica, and part of that route had been through the Plane of Fire. Since it was a lot quicker than ...sage's initial route to Earth, ...sage thought that it would be a good idea to map the path as best he could, in case any future trips were needed. The Plane of Fire was causing problems though, due to its continually changing nature, however, ...sage had found that by aligning the path with the elemental matrix of the Plane, he could rough out the appropriate set of vectors needed for the quickest journey through the Plane. However, he had found that there was a trace of elemental Water along the path and that was throwing his calculations off centre. Focussing in on the water ...sage scryed the Plain of Brass and the form of Thk's trident swam into view, moving slowly behind a travelling efreet. The trident seemed familiar, and then he remembered that he had seen a the trident in the hands of a lizardman through the eyes of his servant, when the servant was still in the group accompanying Kron. "This will never do" thought the drow to himself, "and I need some action while waiting for Iglyarch to prepare himself." Slowly a plan for the Trident's recovery began forming in his mind TBC ...sage
