The Dragon's Inn

A shared-universe fantasy storytelling newsgroup, alt.pub.dragons-inn.
In brief, the Dragon's Inn is a bar where adventurers congregate, in
the seacoast trading city-state of Generica, on the world of Nexus.
Many stories have been written in the years since the Inn opened; some
of them can be found here.

A collection of notes for readers (and writers) of stories for the newsgroup
alt.pub.dragons-inn.

The story of a giant and his quest to find his missing dragon. This
was written primarily by Patrick Rannou, Michael Sander, Andrea Evans,
Steve Hutchison, Ray Rich, and Cameron Neylon. The archive contains
some interim versions of story segments; I'm replacing them as time
permits.

Coming as soon as I have clearance from the various writers and the
disk space I need to post 'em.

Early Stories
Some of my early 'Raelf stories, this was basically how things got started
for me writing on the Inn.
This is the lynchpin story of the Inn -- the Quest of Sgt. Terence Kron to
find his sister Cheyenne, and what happened because of it.
Pieces of Eight
Wherein 'Raelf is re-united with his mate ar'Elya, against all the laws
of common-sense and some of the laws of his people.
The Great Storm
Generica is struck by a hurricane. This was a tangent story of the War
of Hope and Reaving which are documented in the Mage Guild Chronicles.
The Lighthouse Gang (including Rat Tales)
A collection of threads and pieces set in or about the Lighthouse,
this includes the Rat Tales, the romance between Erik and Lex, the
adventures of Rhythm Song (a satyr band), and numerous other stories.
The Mage Guild Chronicles
This documents the turbulent occurences at the Mages' Guild due to the
intrusion of the War of Hope and Reaving. This duplicates Kelly J. Cooper's
archive, or it will once I get it entered. For now,
check with her.
Chasing Unicorns
Andrea has disappeared along with her sister Cheryl -- and 'Raelf and
some friends set out to find her.
Ghost of a Chance
This is the city: Generica. City of Fountains. Home of half a million
merchants. Home of uncounted criminals, thieves, lowlives,
and thugs. In a city like Generica, you sometimes need a private dick.
That's Krupp Faraway. He's a halfling. He's dead. That's just the
start of it.
Universities have certain things in common, even if they teach Magic instead
of Business Administration. One of these things they share: students who
go where they're not supposed to, because it's fun.
The Tale of the Astral Dancer
The world of Nexus enjoys a beautiful night-sky phenomenon called the
Blue Flower. It opens at random times, and when it does, there are
shooting stars for days. The Blue Flower is one end of a wormhole,
and one day an ethership, the Astral Dancer, was caught on the far end,
and spat out on a collision course with Nexus and the city of Generica.
Andrea's HouseStorming
Andrea the Thief bought an old house, that turns out to have been owned
by a master thief with a sense of humor. The house is full of traps.
This is what happened when she got some friends together to get rid of
all the traps.
Child-Stealer
Long eons in the past the Hunter clans among the 'kan made formal
challenge by stealing and devouring the child of their enemies.
Only four months past, ar'Elya returned from her home where she had
given birth to a child, and as 'kan biology requires, the child was
fostered for a year with a trusted adult. Her child has been stolen, and
she cannot go to his rescue, so her mate has gone in her stead.

These were originally created as stories for the CrossRoads "imprint"
on the newsgroup rec.arts.comics.creative, and were crossposted by
my co-creator Fox Cutter to spk.literary and alt.fan.furry,
while I crossposted them (with the Story Buyer wrappers) to the
alt.pub.dragons-inn newsgroup.
