HISTORY:

Long Ago When Nexus Was New:  The Ceruputhon, discovering its mate is in
the Great Blue, cleaves the continent in twain, thus forming the Ceruputhon
river.  (Legend.)
4000: Heath river valley tribes cross Mysty mountains at bottleneck pass,
begin spreading down the Ceruputhon and Kirender rivers.  These tribesmen
spoke a proto-common (Rather like Indo-European) and spread in other directions
from the great heath around this time as well.  For almost the next two 
thousand years these tribes will tend to live a hunter-gatherer existence,
slowly adopting agriculture.  These Heathen are the ancestors of the Old
Generican, Ahmeyan, Parahanni, Ydonni, and current heath peoples.  It
is thought that they also have descendants on the other side of the Heath.
2130-1740: The Twelve Kingdoms of the West continent founded.
2100: Old Generica founded (Oldest buildings date from this period)
It should be noted that Old Generica was not called Old Generica.  What
it was called has been lost.  Anyway, for the next 600 years, Old Generica
will be *the* civilized power between the Mysty Mountains, the Gulf, and
the Great Blue, and it's descendants (Alasir and New Generica in particular)
dominate that area to this day.
2075: First Dynasty suppresses the last of the Catan tribes and begins the
empire of Cathay.
2000: Founding of empire of Ahmey. (Rameshan)
1950: Empire of Aradneh (Dark Continent) founded.  Creepy things begin the
Underwurlde.
1900: Sparlax founded (ancient Parahan)
Sparlax has been considered the highest civilization of the ancient world.
1870-1650: Sporadic fighting between Old Generica and the Northern tribes,
this would stop when the Genericans used the Ydonni as a 'buffer zone.'
1830: The Silk Road (Merchant trail Ahmey-Cathay) founded.
1770: Founding of Graim (Parahan)
1730: Founding of Kethney (Parahan)
1700: Ydonni Barbarians cross Mysty Mts.  Settle on banks of Ceruputhon river
upstream from Generica.
1645: War between old generica and Ydonni, defeated Ydonni transported to where
Ydoine now sits.
1560: Ahmey fights war with gods and loses.  Empire buried under sand until
the end of time. Remnants rule Alamatar and the silk road terminus
until Rameshan moves in.
1540-1537: War between Ydonni tribes and tribes of the North.  Inconsequential.
1530-1400:Golden age of old Generica.
1500-1480: Magira built.
1400: Sudden collapse of old Generica, survivors move between Ceruputhon and 
Kirender rivers.  It is suspected that this is directly due to the appearance
of the Great Mother. Other theories say that the Great Mother is the last
survivor of the species that once ruled Old Generica, and that a conflict
amongst them brought about the demise of the city.
1380: Founding of Rameshan.  For the next thousand years or so Rameshan will
expand from a small fishing country to the most powerful country on the
south part of the continent.
1350: Ex-genericans found country of Kirender.
1330-1200: Cathay builds Great Wall around it's perimeter, uses it to
keep out barbarian hordes.
1250: Northern tribes united under One King, who promptly dies.  Northern
tribes convert to a tribal-fiefdom culture which is more accurately described
as the Northern Clans.
1160: Rameshan conquers ex-Ahmenni territory. Silk Road runs Rameshan-Cathay
now.
1140: Conqueror of the Great Heath begins his conquests.
1117: Conqueror of the Great Heath finishes and begins to rule.
1095: Conqueror of the Great Heath dies. From here on the Heath is going
to fraction into smaller and smaller bits.  Grale Keep built.
1050: Schism of Kirender.  Rebels move off and found Varande, Sanakin, Vascondy
1047: Kirender falls and splits into feudal holdings.  This is, BTW, a direct
result of the schism.
1022-1018: Graim Ketheny war.  Graim wins and falls to a barbarian attack.
1020: Somebody misplaces Sparlax.  Explorers all over will find "remnants"
of the Sparlactic civilisation for the next thousand years. 
Pappheyamknaffi immigrate from the north. Country of Ydoine founded by
descendants of the Ydonni.
1000: The Exiles come from a place they refuse to specify to the lands of
Bismania and Newmeanor, where they settle.  
980: Rackesh of Bismania rises to power.
960: Country of Parahan founded. 
930: Rackesh deposed and evicted.
880: Big ball of rock clobbers Aradneh capital city.  Remnants of Aradneh
flee races they enslaved and eventually revert to a hunter-gatherer existence.
House Maybold picks the wrong side in a Great Heath faction war, expelled to
Just south of Papphemknaff
720: Two King dominates the Northern Clans.  He rules for a while (d. 702)
but an accident while the crown prince is riding to his coronation (slipped
in the bath, killed both himself and his horse) prevents a successor from
taking the title.  Clan wars begin.
702: Gnolls attack Grale keep.  Scoan II (Lord Glorshanned) leads refugees
to Ceruputhon river.
700 Scoan II begins building Glorshanned keep.  Founding of new Generica.
642 Scoan II dies.  Julianus inherits (at 63 years old).  Dynasty of the aged
begins.  Valkeer founded.
560: Founding of the Company of Traders.  The current leader, Moravy III, will 
use and accept the CoT, but his nephew, Kobe, will sell out (actually his regent
will) and from 547-430 Generica will have two rulers: the figurehead of the 
Glorshanned dynasty and the real rulers in the CoT.  Rameshan conquers country
and territory of Parahan.  (This serves as a spur for Moravy to exploit the
CoT)
500: Dark Lord comes to power in Sovia, West Continent.
430: Revolt.  Horowitz the savvy replaces Scoan VII.  Beginning of the "witz"
merchant rulers.  It should be noticed that Horowitz did not only replace
the Glorshanned line, but upset the power structure in the CoT.  This revolt
was more economic than anything else.
440-415: Stone (Half-something Half-something else tyrant) rules the Mysty 
mountains around Bottleneck pass.  Legend has it that Stone was a Half-troll
Half-orc Half-rock Half-human, but as that's too many halves most historians
just settle for something-something else.
420: Temple of Feresha built.
415: Battle of Broken Stone.  Stone overthrown by Sun and Moon (People, not
the celestial objects) and Mysty mountains freed.  Team of Magicians grades
and makes a road through Bottleneck Pass.  The merchant company that financed 
the whole thing goes bankrupt.
410: Founding of Specifica of Cod.  Barony of Stifer set up.
370: Founding of Specifica of the furs.
330: Founding of Specifica of Spices.  Three King ends the Clan wars in the
north, then goes insane (begins to become an advocate for broccoli and it's
ability to solve all the worlds problems, hence the expression 'Broccoli
King', used to denote the advocate of a particularly harebrained idea.) leaving
a divided kingdom, to fracture and become the Northern Countries.
300: Moscowitz the Ambitious declares himself Emperor.  Witz dynasty founded.
Rameshan reaches it's peak and begins to decline.
300-250: The Horde descends from the Steppes to wreak havoc between the
Running Lands and the eastern borders of Parahan, overrunning the south
part of the Great Heath and conquering Cathay.  Emperors are replaced by
Khans.
230: Specifica of the Sugars founded.
192-180: Ydoinian marine phase.  Ydoine takes significant parts of the          
Antillies, Valkeer, parts of the Dark continent.
180-178: Ydoinian-Bismanain war.  Fizzles out due to distance.
152: First orc war.
85-80: Hyrexes' battleground in use.
74: Tarovia and Nilar begin war.  They will fight continuously hereafter.
60: Schism of Sanakin, founding of Alasir.
55: Second orc war.
40: Founding of Generican Examiner.
35-15: Generica-lizardman wars.
30: Second Generican revolt.  Samawitz the Mean deposed by Nixon the Truthful.
(Descendants of Samawitz still hold ceremonial titles, though)  Common legend
has it that Nixon was actually going to lunch when a crowd (Protesting
Samawitz's latest tyranny) intercepted him and pushed him to the palace.  Nixon
used his not inconsiderable negotiation talents from there.
27: Melwis the Wise succeeds Nixon the Truthful after some kind of scandal
involving the Water-Gate Inn.
25: Rowan Littlefair sets up in Dragon's inn.
7: Alasir conquers Varande.
5: Third Orc war.
4: Alasir conquers Sanakin.
2: Fourth Orc war.
1: Record keeping of dragon's inn regulars begins.
<1: Alasir conquers Vascondy.  Also, Hyrexes' Battleground fell and was
replaced by a forest-being called The Green, or Kron Park.  The Treaty
of Parahan was signed, dividing parahan between the people of Ch'par
on the east and the Rameshanders on the west.
