'La Ville de Bruxelles'. Bred by Vibert, France 1849.

La Ville de BruxellesThis is a very fine example of the Damask clan, and one of the best should you decide to grow only one or two. Very finely formed medium to light pink blooms are freely produced on this strudy, well shaped shrub. The fragrance is pure Damask..sweet and quintessential rose!

'La Ville de Bruxelles' is most assuredly one of the finest of all the Damasks and is a must have in any serious collection of OGR's. Bloom quality is always superb, the fragrance intense and pure, second to none, and the shrub is attractive and has excellent vigor. It is inclined to bet Blackspot some years, but is rarely serious enough to be disfiguring. It blooms for several weeks, opening many blooms in sucession, thanks to the large clusters of buds. 'La Ville de Bruxelles' is one of my favorite Spring blooming OGR's. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
